6 Sacred Sutra Rain of Nectar of Truth
Illusion
While thus reciting the Angel in Seicho-no-Ie,
Appears a Cherubim that begs:
"For the well-being of humanity,
For the spiritual awakening of men,
Clarifies the nature of the illusion.
Answer the Angel, saying:
Assume existing what is non-existent,
This is the illusion.
The ignorance of Truth is said to be illusion.
Although pleasure and pain are not in matter,
They think they are relevant to the subject,
Now chasing pleasure, now running away from pain
- such an inverted thought is called an illusion.
Although Life is not in matter,
Imagine that it is in matter
- this mistake is called illusion.
In fact, matter is in the mind.
Although the mind is the master of matter
And all forms and natures of matter
Be creations of the mind,
Believe that the mind is dominated by matter,
Suffer or distress according to the material changes
And do not understand that the True Image
Of himself and his life
Is Perfection and Harmony
This is called an illusion.
The illusion is absence of Light
Because it is the opposite of Truth.
The illusion is unreal because it opposes Reality.
Had the illusion real existence,
The pain and the anguish that are born of the illusion
They would also have real existence.
But because illusion is the absence of Reality,
Pain and anguish are just nightmares
Which will certainly be undone and not the Reality.
